Local Knowledge with an International Reach
Vicki Doudera

As first time buyers with very specific property requirements due to our interest in energy efficiency we chose to work with Vicki Doudera of Camden Real Estate due to her National Association of Realtor's Green Designation. Her well-deserved reputation for being a friendly, expert, and hard-working realtor as well as a powerful yet diplomatic advocate for her clients certainly helped influence our decision too!

Vicki was outstanding throughout the house-buying process, always keeping our requirements in mind, our interests out front, and our feet on the ground. Thanks to Vicki's help, we now own our perfect house, and we paid a near-perfect price! We would highly recommend Vicki Doudera and Camden Real Estate to anyone at any point in the homebuying or selling process.

Vicki was always upbeat and positive despite the dive in the economy and real estate market. When the going got tough, Vicki offered creative marketing ideas. She clearly knows the territory. She communicated well and always returned calls promptly. It was a pleasure working with her and I would highly recommend her to anyone buying or selling a home in the midcoast area.

Vicki Doudera is honored to be chosen the 2009 Realtor of the Year for the Coastal Mountain Council of Realtors. She was a development officer at Children’s Hospital in Boston when she and her husband Ed decided to move to Maine. “We came for the quality of life as well as the adventure of it all. Before we knew it, we’d purchased a forlorn Victorian in Camden, restored it, and opened a ten-room inn.” Three children and twelve years later, the couple sold the inn and took on new challenges. “Ed started a law practice downtown and I became a full-time writer." Vicki's two books for newcomers to the state, “Moving to Maine," and "Where to Retire in Maine,“ both published by Down East Books, Inc., have given countless people a sense of Maine's uniqueness, as well as practical advice on what it’s like to live here.

In 2003, Vicki joined Camden Real Estate Company, and quickly became one of its most successful agents. A natural communicator, she finds that her work as a broker means she can share her knowledge of the area while helping her clients to find the right house. “I love living here, and I can answer your questions about everything from veterinarians to volunteering. I want to help you find the perfect fit -- not just a house, but a community.“

Vicki works hard as a broker, listening to you and tailoring a house-hunting plan to your specific needs. “Anyone can get you the information -- you can get it yourself for that matter -- but you can’t get the nuances of what it’s like to live in different communities unless you work with someone who really knows.” She believes that the little courtesies -- such as promptly returning phone calls -- are more than just nice things to do. “This is a relationship business and my relationship with my clients is first and foremost. Everything else flows from that.”

This year she became one of a handful of Maine real estate professionals to earn the National Association of REALTORS®' (NAR's) new Green Designation, which focuses on sustainable building, energy efficiency in homes, and environmentally friendly building practices. She is President of Midcoast Habitat for Humanity (www.midcoasthabitat.org) and is a member of Pen Bay Medical Center‘s Community Relations committee.

Vicki invites you to check out her website and blog www.vickidoudera.com describing what it's like to live in Maine. "This is a beautiful and interesting part of the world, and I'd love to help you find a home here."
