Alex grew up in New York City. In 1969 her parents bought a home on Youngtown Road in Lincolnville to escape the hustle and bustle for a few months each year. “As a young girl I would sit on the side of the road in front of my summer house picking clover flowers dreaming of a time when I didn't have to leave on the last day of summer vacation. That dream came true for me in 2006 when I moved to Maine with my husband, Tommy, and our two children who were 8 and 12 at the time. We left Southampton, New York with new hopes for our life in Maine. We still pinch ourselves from time to time. We are as happy with the move today as we were the day we arrived. The areas natural beauty, vast array of recreational activities, diverse arts scene, excellent educational options and strong sense of community make Mid-coast Maine a wonderful place to live.”
Having spent most of her professional life in client services and sales beginning in the fashion industry in New York City, Alex began her real estate career in 2012 with one of the Mid-coast's largest real estate agencies where, in just three years, she became one of the top grossing agents and was recruited to join the ranks of Camden Real Estate. “I am thrilled to be a part the Camden Real Estate Company. The support and collaborative working environment together with a team of top notch agents make this the ideal agency to bring my career to the next level. I feel truly blessed to be a part of this exceptional team”.
Alex and her husband, who is a retired building contractor and now also a real estate agent, have a passion for real estate. They have built one house, renovated four and are currently in the process of remodeling a circa 1820 Cape Cod style house in Lincolnville where their new love of gardening is taking root.
With a strong desire to give back to her community, Alex has volunteered her time with the schools, as President of the PTO at the Lincolnville Central School, fund raising for the Camden Hills High School hockey and lacrosse teams as well as spending time working with Five Towns Communities That Care and she is a past member of board of directors for New Hope for Women.
Building strong relationships with her clients has always been a top priority. Her attention to detail instills confidence that not only assures things are getting done in a timely manner but also that all the T's are crossed and the I's are dotted. Her friendly, warm demeanor and quick sense of humor will make you feel at ease and comfortable. Whether you are selling a property, looking for your first home or searching for your coastal dream home, Alex will partner with you to make sure the experience is both enjoyable and rewarding.
"Where to even begin?? As a former realtor and mortgage banker, I have high expectations of people 'in the biz'. Alex far exceeded those expectations.
My husband and I fell in love with mid-coast Maine last summer, with the thought that maybe we would buy a place there 'someday'. Kind of on a whim, I looked up local real estate offices and called one. I was connected with Alex and we set up a meeting. Not expecting much out of it, I was thoroughly impressed with Alex: her knowledge of the various towns; her willingness to work with us even though we were 'someday' people at that point; her friendliness; her organization; her resources! I was so happy to have found THE realtor to work with on the first try! Shortly after that, as an added bonus, Tommy Uhll joined our team, bringing a tremendous amount of construction knowledge and experience.
Over the next few months of viewing properties online using the awesome search portal, we found some that looked interesting. Living 6 hours away, though, presented some challenges. But Alex and Tommy were able to set viewings up within some pretty interesting time constraints. They also previewed properties and sent videos, saving us a lot of time and travel. Then we found the house we loved...
Now, their true talents showed, and their deep connections within the community!! This was a challenging deal, to say the least, a foreclosed upon property that had been vacant for a year with lots of damage. Did I mention we live 6 hours away??? Alex and Tommy went above and beyond to make sure we had all the inspections done in order for us to feel comfortable buying the house. I am sure the path from their office to the property is well worn, as I heard this many times, "We'll just run up to the house and check that out for you." Being of service to their clients is simply who they are, and we are so grateful!
Lastly, the closing on the house took place just as the pandemic was coming into full force and the state of Maine was figuring out work restrictions. And, the closing documents were coming from California and Colorado, each with their own pandemic guidelines. Talk about adding another set of unique challenges! As we came to expect, though, Alex and Tommy handled all of this with expertise, and most importantly, kept in excellent communication with us.
I can't tell you how lucky we feel to have found and worked with Alex and Tommy. It's like finding long lost friends we didn't know we had!!"
"Working with Alex was one of the best choices we made when we decided to list our home for sale. She helped us decide where to focus our time and money on preparing the house and she was right! Our home was under contract in less than 14 days. Alex had the right touch when staging the house and kept us informed immediately following each showing. She was supportive and made the process smooth and less stressful by being a good listener and responding to every text and email quickly. Her confidence in how she handled problems and negotiations was reassuring. Much of her success, I think, is due to her ability to connect with people really well, combined with her in depth knowledge of real estate legalities. Our dream to own a waterfront home came true and Alex played a crucial role in making that happen for us. I would strongly recommend working with Alex as her work with us was nothing short of "stellar"- direct quote from my husband!"
