Bill lives on a 100-acre farm in Freedom and scattered all about are objects gifted to him by the many real estate clients he has worked with throughout the years. Just a simple walk around his property gives him a chance to reflect on his professional relationships.
Raised in Southern California, Bill served in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War and attended college in Colorado. Around this time, he decided to explore his mother’s East Coast roots and ended up in Belfast, Maine.
For more than a decade, Bill was a high school English teacher until he and his wife Annie decided he ought to change careers – to help raise twin boys. Having been a teacher, Bill was adept at dealing with people of all ages, with admin and other vocational surprises, so he was well prepared for the move to real estate. After working for others, and then running his own operation, he came to Camden Real Estate Company in the 1990s.
Bill’s insight has been put to good use as a past president of the Midcoast Board of Realtors, Director of the Statewide Maine Association of Realtors, and Chairman of the State of Maine Professional Standards Committee. What continues to feed his professional fire is knowing that almost every transaction results in all sides being happy.
"Bill Pickford was crucial in marketing and selling our large and complicated property. He was wonderful at helping us over the rough patches and getting all the parties involved through several difficult issues. He also found us our new home, which is perfect for us. He is totally professional. Thank you, Bill!" - Chris and Petie Noyes
